Russian president Vladimir Putin will pay a visit to China and attend the opening ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games, the Kremlin press service reports.

The visit will take place on February 4, at the invitation of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

During the visit, high-level talks will be held, at which it is planned to discuss the current state and prospects for the development of the Russian-Chinese comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction. A wide range of issues of practical cooperation in the trade, economic, energy, financial and investment, scientific, technical and humanitarian fields will be considered.

The leaders will also exchange views on topical international and regional issues. As a result of the visit, it is intended to adopt a joint statement, which will fix the common approaches of Russia and China to solving key world problems.
