The G7, Russia and China must urgently work together to stop the abrupt global slide into chaos and anarchy due to the spread of dangerous technologies, the increased use of the dark web and the spread of cryptocurrencies, Israeli Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman told The Jerusalem Post.
In an interview, Lieberman described in detail the terrible picture of the world, as well as four catalysts for sliding into global chaos.
First, he says, is the rise of AI-driven technology and young hackers able to do things with their computers and mobile phones that were unimaginable just a few years ago.
These are technological developments over which there is no control or coordination, he said.
There is no form of global regulation, and it takes us to potentially frightening places, he added.
The second catalyst, Lieberman continued, is the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies around the world. According to him, today there are 15,000 different types of cryptocurrencies.
Every few people get together and create a digital currency, he said adding that in Iran, there are cryptocurrency markets for sanctions circumvention and money laundering, and they can be used to finance terrorism and crime.
