British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new appointments to the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday following a string of resignations this week. Large-scale reshuffles in Downing Street are associated with the consequences of the scandal, which seriously weakened the position of the head of the Cabinet, TASS reports.

Earlier this week, Downing Street chief of staff Dan Rosenfeld, head of domestic policy Munira Mirza, communications director Jack Doyle, the prime minister's private secretary Martin Reynolds and Johnson's equality adviser Elena Narozanski stepped down from their posts. Earlier this week, the prime minister promised to clean up his office and reorganize its work because of the party scandal that regularly took place on Downing Street during the period of strict coronavirus restrictions.
