Russian President Vladimir Putin said his talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Monday were "meaningful and useful," TASS reports.
"Our talks today with Mr. Macron were traditionally practical, meaningful and useful," the Russian leader said at a news conference following the meeting.
According to him, issues related to security guarantees were discussed. He noted that Russia's main concerns were ignored in the proposals for security guarantees.
Putin called NATO's "open door policy" a free interpretation of the principles of this alliance by the United States and a number of other countries.
