Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry has rejected the protesting opposition's demand for his resignation, insisting that the current government continue to work to organize general elections and lead the country out of a deep crisis, RIA Novosti reported.

"Today, February 7, everyone who calls himself a Democrat should keep in mind: this time we will hold good elections, without prejudice, without fraud, without violence or gang support," Henry said late on Monday in his address to the nation.

Refusing to resign his post, Henry urged the democrats to work together to ensure that the next election does not lead to new crises and that future people's elected representatives enjoy legitimacy.
