Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Hossein Amir Abdollahian discussed the developments around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that the sides exchanged views on the results of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's successful visit to Moscow and called for further strengthening of cooperation in all areas on the basis of the leaders' agreements.

They discussed developments regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program in the context of the ongoing negotiations in Vienna to restore full implementation of the nuclear deal. The ministers spoke in favour of reviving the JCPOA as soon as possible in its original balanced configuration as endorsed by the UN Security Council.

Regional issues were also touched upon.
