The risk of a Russian invasion of Ukraine is increasing as tensions in the region rise against the backdrop of Moscow's troop buildup, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg noted.

Asked in an interview with CNN how likely a Russian invasion is at the moment, Stoltenberg said that the warning time is shortening and the risk of attack is increasing, pointing to Russia's continuing military buildup.

Stoltenberg also said that Russia's experience of using force against Ukraine and Moscow's strong threatening rhetoric create a real danger.

According to him, it is possible to keep the peace, and that is why we are investing so much energy from NATO to find a political way forward.
