Armenia and Iran are implementing projects of regional significance, including the geopolitically important project connecting the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea, Armenian Ambassador to Iran Arsen Avagyan said.

His remarks came during the international conference "Armenia-Iran: Historical Past and Present,” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Arsen Avagyan also said that centuries-old Armenian-Iranian relations, based on mutual respect, had entered a new phase with the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Iran in 1991. He highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation in various spheres, including science and culture.

The Ambassador in his message also stressed the development of cooperation between the two countries also at the local level.
