House of Representatives member Marjorie Taylor Green, who has become known for her love of conspiracy theories and angry outbursts against Democratic leaders, apparently intended to accuse House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of Gestapo police tactics, NBC News reported.

But it didn't quite work out that way, and the mistake she made immediately sparked a chorus of derision from her critics on social media.

Instead of comparing Pelosi's tactics to the Nazi secret police, she compared them to a bowl of cold soup - gazpacho.

"Now we have Nancy Pelosi's gazpacho police spying on members of Congress, spying on the legislative work we do, spying on our staff and spying on American citizens," Greene said on One America News Network's Real America program.
