Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow's son has been nominated as a presidential candidate in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen website Salamnews reported.

According to the source, during an extraordinary congress of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, Turkmen Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow was nominated for president of Turkmenistan.

The congress participants listened to and supported the speech of Serdar Berdimuhamedow running for president of Turkmenistan.

The presidential election in Turkmenistan will be held on 12 March 2022.
