BAKU. - Negotiations on the Karabakh settlement are likely to be extended to as long as any of the parties refuses Madrid principles, said Azerbaijani expert Arif Yunus in an interview to salamnews.org.
He did not rule out the possibility of breaking the negotiations and then starting them over on the basis of different principles.
"Azerbaijani president has brought to Kazan 10 remarks to the existing Madrid principles, which could reduce the role of Russia in the region, discuss issues of peacekeepers, Lachin corridor and a referendum," he added.
Yunus also expressed the view that Azerbaijan is not interested in implementation of the Madrid principles without any regard to the amendments, because it could lose Nagorno-Karabakh.
