The Armenian authorities daily increase the country's public debt by $3 million, Robert Kocharyan, Armenia's second president, said at a press conference.

He said that the incomes of common people are decreasing in parallel with this, the purchasing power of the population is going down, living standards of people are falling, and the external debt to GDP ratio has already exceeded 60%.

According to him, there is a serious crisis of governance, but it has not yet led to a political crisis.

"The authorities ignore the countryside most of all, but strangely enough, it is there that the authorities have the highest rating," Kocharyan remarked.
