Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, has sued two women who spread false rumors online that she is transgender, Agence France-Presse reported, citing a judicial source.

It is noted that the first hearing in the civil proceedings is scheduled for 15 June.

In January, Brigitte Macron claimed that the perpetrators who spread false rumors about her transgender identity had altered data in her genealogical tree on the Internet.
