Sberbank is working on the possibility of issuing a co-baying card "Mir" - UnionPay, which can be used to pay for purchases and withdraw cash abroad, reports TASS, citing the bank.

"Sberbank is working on the possibility of issuing a co-baying card "Mir" - UnionPay. We will inform additionally about the timing of the launch," the credit institution said.

The "Mir" cobbage card - UnionPay is accepted both in Russia and in 180 countries that support the UnionPay payment system.

UnionPay is an international payment system founded in 2002. The payment acceptance network includes Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Cyprus, Thailand, India, Israel, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, Serbia, Hungary and Austria.

The international payment systems Visa and MasterCard at the same time decided to limit their work in Russia in the coming days. The banks believe that Visa and MasterCard cards of Russian banks will work in the former mode in Russia and other countries for about three days.

At the same time, Visa and MasterCard cards of all Russian banks will continue to work within the Russian Federation, customer funds in the accounts linked to these cards will be fully preserved and available. But cross-border card transactions will not be available. This applies to both payment for purchases in foreign online stores and the use of these cards abroad.

At the same time, Visa and MasterCard cards will continue to work abroad wherever the Mir card is accepted. As of today, these are Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
