Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Baku on Saturday, Turkish Anadolu news agency reported.

"The head of Turkish diplomacy stressed the importance of the Shusha Declaration signed by the leaders of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

"According to him, the parties are taking all necessary steps to implement the provisions of this declaration," the media reports.

"Close interaction and cooperation between the two brotherly countries is not only in the interests of Turkey and Azerbaijan, but also contributes to stability and prosperity in the entire region," Çavuşoğlu said.

The Turkish minister assured that Ankara would continue working closely with Baku on regional issues.
