The danger stemming from Turkey is rather hypothetical and theoretical at the moment. Eduard Aghajanyan, Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and an MP from the ruling majority “Civil Contract” Faction of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, said this at Monday’s press briefing in the NA.

The reporters, in particular, asked whether Turkey, which is a member of NATO, could take certain actions against the Russian military base in Armenia’s Gyumri city—and in the context of Russia's current military operations in Ukraine.

According to the lawmaker of Armenia’s ruling, there are always such dangers.

"Although I consider such a scenario hypothetically possible, nevertheless, at the moment it is highly unlikely. I would not link it to the current Russian-Ukrainian crisis—well, at least now," said Aghajanyan.
