One of the main points of discussion at the talks in Vienna on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) is Iran's demand for the lifting of sanctions that hinder its economic benefits, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said, Tasnim reports.

The nature of the fundamental discussions that were raised between Iran and the US at the talks in Vienna is such that the economic benefits for the Iranian people must be respected, Khatibzadeh said at a gathering of university students in Mashhad.

He noted that the sanctions that prevent Iran from enjoying the economic benefits of the JCPOA and the entire chain of sanctions against Iran should be ended as a result of the negotiations in Vienna.

The spokesman added that Iran has not yet held direct talks with the US in Vienna, noting that the whole point of the talks is that Iran does not accept the US sanctions red list in principle.
