Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei had a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu to discuss the situation around Ukraine, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.

"The interlocutors discussed in detail the situation in the region in a broad context and specifically around Ukraine. They expressed a consensus that the conflict in its hot phase should be ended as soon as possible," the statement said.

The conversation also touched on the evacuation of their own citizens from the conflict zone and the functioning of humanitarian corridors.
