Work on the organization of a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia will take place after finding a formula for the handover of Donbass to Ukraine, the adviser of the head of the Office of Ukraine president Mykhailo Podolyak said, UNIAN reported.

"Regarding the occupied territories, Ukraine's position remains unchanged: it is impossible to change the borders of the country. However, I believe that we must be sober in our judgments. De jure Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk remain part of Ukraine, but we de facto do not control them, the Russian administration works there. One of the key issues remains how to manage these territories."

Asked if Donetsk and Luhansk are being considered for return to Ukrainian control, he said. "Negotiations are continuing. We are looking for a legal formula. When it is found, the presidents of Ukraine and Russia will continue negotiations at a special meeting," Podolyak noted. "As soon as we finish working on the condition, we will begin organizing the meeting. That will be the topic of the next few weeks. But the location does not matter to us. Anything but Russia is possible."
