Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council the course of the war in Ukraine, the president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Friday, TASS reported.

"The president informed the meeting participants in detail about his numerous international phone contacts," Peskov said.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Kremlin Chief of Staff Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, FSB head Alexander Bortnikov and FIS head Sergey Naryshkin, and Special Representative of the President for Environmental and Transport Affairs Sergey Ivanov.
