The president of Defense Industries of Turkey, Ismail Demir, has stated that his country does not intend to give up the Russian S-400 air defense missile systems under pressure from the United States or NATO, Izvestia reports.

According to Demir, "Turkey is able to decide its own policy and its own path."

"It is not a subject for discussion for us. Earlier we discussed this issue, and now we just continue cooperation with Russia. Refusing it is not even discussed," he explained.

Earlier, Sky News Arabia reported that the United States is discussing with Turkey the matter of sending these S-400s to Ukraine.
