The Armenian government is thinking about social benefits such as pensions and wage increases.
However, any new policy leading to an increase in social payments should be based on the financial, economic and macroeconomic indicators of the country, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan told at the National Assembly during the government hour on Wednesday, answering questions from deputies.
The ministry he heads, according to Mkrtchyan, does not have direct tools for curbing and suppressing inflationary processes.
“Such a new policy requires discussion with the ministries of finance and economy of the republic. And believe me, such discussions are being held,” he said.
