The US is ready to provide more than $1 billion in new funding for humanitarian assistance to those affected by the Ukraine crisis and its severe consequences around the world, including a marked increase in food insecurity.

This funding will provide food, shelter, clean water, medicines and other forms of assistance.

Since 2021, the United States has provided the Europe and Eurasia region with more than $1.1 billion in economic, health, democracy and human rights, and humanitarian assistance, the White House said.
