The UN General Assembly has supported a resolution holding Russia responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, Interfax reported.

It calls for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid to those in need.

Representatives of 140 countries voted for the resolution, 38 abstained. Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria voted against it.

Abstentions included China, Cuba, Armenia, CAR, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and South Africa.
