Given the fact that after the 44-day war, both Armenia and Azerbaijan are talking about establishing peace, and that the Armenian MFA turned to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to organize negotiations on signing a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, ArmLur.am sent a number of questions to the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar, the Zhoghovurd newspaper reported.

Any proposal that will allow negotiations between the parties and achieve peace is good. The parties are interested in moving forward on the basis of those proposals that became public on March 14, 2022, Klaar said.

When asked whether Azerbaijan is ready to establish peace at this stage without preconditions, he noted that when Armenia and Azerbaijan sit down at the negotiating table, they will have in mind their positions and main interests. It is unlikely to be otherwise.
