Russia and Ukraine have completed a face-to-face round of talks in Istanbul, they were constructive, the head of the Russian delegation and presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky told reporters on Tuesday.

His remarks followed a meeting of the Moscow and Kiev delegations, TASS reported.

"Negotiations with the Ukrainian side are over. The negotiations were constructive," he said. According to Medinsky, Russia is making two steps toward Ukraine for de-escalation.

"We have received proposals from the Ukrainian side for consideration, clearly formulated their position on inclusion in the treaty. These proposals will be considered in the near future and will be presented to the president. And our response will be given accordingly," he said.

"If we work quickly on the treaty and find a compromise, the possibility of making peace will be closer," Medinsky added.
