The IAEA has agreed separately with Ukraine and Russia on a framework mechanism for ensuring the safety of Ukrainian nuclear facilities in connection with war, Rafael Grossi, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said.

His remarks came in Vienna on Friday following his visit to Ukraine, TASS reported.

"I have an agreement on a framework mechanism," Grossi told reporters. "However, this agreement is reached separately with each side - Ukraine and Russia," he added.

He said IAEA assistance in delivering technical equipment to monitor radiation levels in Ukraine has already begun, but the main set of support will come next week.
