The views of Moscow and Baku in international affairs are close or mostly the same, said the Russian Foreign Ministry on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Russian-Azerbaijani diplomatic relations.

“The countries cooperate closely within the CIS framework, cooperate in the context of integration processes in the Eurasian space. "In international forums, including the UN and the OSCE, our countries traditionally support each other and demonstrate a strong rejection of any manifestations of racism, xenophobia, neo-Nazism, discrimination on ethnic, linguistic or religious grounds. Russia and Azerbaijan also stand in solidarity against attempts to glorify Nazism and to revise the results of World War II and falsify history.

Particular attention is paid to regional security in the South Caucasus. Adherence to the trilateral high-level agreements of 9 November, 2020, 11 January and 26 November, 2021 remains an unconditional factor to ensure long-term peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

It is very symbolic that Russia and Azerbaijan are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in a new capacity. On 22 February this year in Moscow, presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration on allied cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The provisions of this document are focused on the future. The new allied relations will continue, as before, to develop steadily on the basis of strong traditions of good-neighborliness, equality and respect for each other's interests. This fully meets the long-term interests of the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan," the report says.
