The European Commission will allocate 1 billion euros to support Ukraine and countries hosting refugees fleeing war after Russia's invasion, EU chief executive Ursula von der Leyen said on Saturday, Reuters reported.
Six hundred million of them will go to Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities and part of the United Nations, von der Leyen said at a fundraising event for Ukraine in Poland.
And 400 million euros will go to the border states that are doing such a wonderful job and helping the refugees that are coming, she added.
