Russian President Vladimir Putin and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer are holding talks during which the situation around Ukraine is expected to be discussed, Russian leader's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.

The meeting is taking place at Putin's residence near Moscow. At the request of the Austrian side, the talks are being held behind closed doors.

Nehammer arrived in Moscow the day before. On Saturday, he visited Ukraine, where he met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
