An armed attack was made on a bar in the municipality of Iztapaluca in the state of Mexico on Monday. Three people became victims of unknown criminals, the prosecutor's office of the region reported on Twitter.

An investigation has been launched into the fact of the possible premeditated murder of three people and causing harm to the health of seven more through the use of firearms, the text says. There was no information about the condition of the victims. Authorities did not provide any information about the possible motives of the attackers.

Organized crime groups and drug cartels are largely responsible for the rampant violence in Mexico. In 2021, over 33.3 thousand intentional homicides were registered in the country, of which about half were in the states of Guanajuato, Mexico City, Michoacán, Baja California, Jalisco and Chihuahua.
