The U.S. and Republic of Korea militaries launched a crisis management headquarters exercise on Tuesday, ahead of a major joint command post exercise to be held from April 18 to 28, Yonhap reported.

Crisis management drills are about working through various scenarios that precede war, Yonhap explains.

They will be held from April 12 to 15 under the leadership of the South Korean Chiefs of Staff.

On April 18, command and staff exercises will begin in the format of computer simulation, based on the action plans of the parties in wartime. These training events this year have been moved from March to April due to the presidential election in South Korea.
