The Ministry of Finance of Sri Lanka announced the suspension of payments on all external obligations of the country, the department said on Tuesday.
The policy of the ministry will be to freeze payments on all external debt for a certain period of time in order to properly restructure these obligations in accordance with the IMF-supported program of economic transformation, the document says.
