We have entered a new era of the Cold War, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın tweeted.

"The Ukrainian crisis continues to deepen. Mutual mistakes, the search for a new balance of power and short-term calculations of interests will lead to great strategic losses and human drama in the medium term. We have entered a new era of cold war. The consequences of this war will persist for decades," he said.

"New balances will be established in all areas, from food and energy security to geopolitical dynamics and regional alliances.

Turkey will maintain its balanced stance and continue its multifaceted initiatives for peace, stability, security and justice during this critical period."
