The authorities of Uzbekistan recommend enterprises not to make settlements with foreign partners in Russian banks, which are subject to sanctions of the West, TASS reported.

"The Central Bank and banks have been instructed to work with local enterprises to determine whether foreign partners fall under sanctions and to establish a system of informing enterprises before carrying out any export-import operations," the regulator said after a meeting of the government commission on foreign trade, investment and development of local industry and technical regulation.

According to the Central Bank, it emphasized the need to urge all clients to transfer international settlements with their foreign partners to other banks in order to prevent the unwanted blocking of funds.

It is also reported that the day before the Uzbek bank Ipak Yuli (Silk Road) suspended international payments in all currencies, except Russian rubles, with such credit institutions as Sberbank, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, VEB.RF, Tinkoff Bank, and others included in the sanctions lists of the USA and EU.
