Bae Hyun-jin, spokesman for South Korea's next leader's transition committee, said that President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol intends to send a delegation to Japan in April for consultations on bilateral cooperation and policies toward the North Korea, TASS reported, citing the Yonhap news agency.

"The purpose of this delegation is to hold consultations on North Korea and on bilateral relations between Seoul and Tokyo. We expect that the visit will lay the groundwork for cooperation on these issues," said Bae Hyun-jin.

The publication notes that the delegates are expected to meet with representatives of the Japanese government, parliament, business and academia.
