Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia and President Vladimir Putin of Russia held a detailed exchange of views Tuesday on the broad agenda of bilateral cooperation.

According to a joint statement issued by the two leaders following, Putin and Pashinyan "exchanged views in detail on political, military and military-technical, trade-economic, scientific-educational, cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as a broad agenda of bilateral cooperation in justice, labor and social affairs, and noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of the development of a multifaceted mutually beneficial alliance between Russia and Armenia."

Current issues of cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed.

“Giving historical significance to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on April 3, 1992, the parties reaffirmed their intention to comprehensively deepen and expand interstate relations on the basis of the principles enshrined in the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance," the statement added, in particular.

Putin and Pashinyan noted the importance of a regular high-level dialogue. In this regard, the urgency and significance of the Armenian Prime Minister's official visit to the Russian Federation to further strengthen mutually beneficial political contacts, expand interdepartmental exchanges, deepen trade and economic cooperation and integration processes in the Eurasian region, and resolve the situation and increase stability in the South Caucasus.

The leaders expressed satisfaction with the results of the work on putting the trade between Russia and Armenia on a path of sustainable growth.

An agreement was reached to encourage the establishment of close ties between the business circles of the two countries—including in interregional and municipal formats, and using the business mission mechanism.

The parties welcomed the intention of Russian businesses to create complete and modern production cycles in Armenia.

They noted the joint effective work within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union—and for the consistent formation of single markets for energy resources.

The parties expressed intention to promote the deepening of practical cooperation between the provinces and regions of Russia and Armenia.
