Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia and President Vladimir Putin of the Russia have agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries in basic science—putting the emphasis on the development of high-tech products in demand and based on joint scientific research and production complexes. This is noted in a joint statement following Tuesday’s meeting—in Moscow—between the leaders of the two countries.

Also, they expressed willingness to encourage ties between the universities, research institutes, and new business projects—startups—of the two countries.

The two leaders spoke in favor of further deepening Armenian-Russian cooperation in culture and education, labor protection and social affairs, information, tourism, sports, and environment.

The provision of favorable conditions for the teaching of the Armenian language in Russia and the Russian language in Armenia was emphasized.

Putin and Pashinyan spoke also in favor of intensifying youth exchange programs between the two countries.

They spoke in favor of holding mass events aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the two peoples.

The two leaders agreed to help identify the potential of the Russian diaspora in Armenia and the potential of the Armenian diaspora in Russia.

The importance of the activities of the Armenian and Russian diaspora unions was emphasized, too.
