The price of gold on Wednesday morning is declining under the pressure of the growing yield of US government bonds as an alternative direction of "reliable" investment in relation to the precious metal, according to trading data.

The price of June futures for gold on the New York Comex exchange is reduced by 12.3 dollars, or 0.63%, to 1946.7 dollars per troy ounce. May silver futures are down 0.87% to $25.17 an ounce.
