TBILISI. – Over 30 percent of 446 km Georgian-Azerbaijani border still remains ownerless. Two special committees appointed by the countries try to clarify this issue, says Georgian Tribuna.ge.

In this context, the biggest issue for dispute is David-Gareji monastery complex, which according to Georgian narrative is a historical Georgian land while Azerbaijani narrative argues that it belonged to Caucasian Albanians and is called Kechik. Note that it has been long enough that Azerbaijanis try to present Albanians as their ancestors.

According to the agency, political and scientific circles of Azerbaijan did not raise this issue in recent years and Georgia felt pretty comfortable in this regard. However, Azerbaijani side appeared to have elaborated over issue and now seeks to voice it more actively, thus trying to excerpt pressure on Georgia.

Azerbaijan is going to establish Albanian Church, with uttermost goal of "returning" David Garejii monastery.
