The cost of gold on Thursday morning is slightly reduced on expectations of a tightening of monetary policy by the US Federal Reserve, according to trading data and analysts' comments.

The price of June futures for gold on the New York Comex exchange is reduced by $1.7, or 0.09%, to $1,954.1 per troy ounce. May silver futures are down 0.38% to $25.177 an ounce.
