The Armenian-Russian cooperation has a history of not 30, but hundreds of years, Russian State Duma MP Oleg Nilov told a press conference in Yerevan Thursday.

He noted that later that cooperation only grew and became more active—benefiting both the Armenian and Russian people.

"However, in my opinion, our allied relations are not being used effectively enough. The development of relations must first of all be reflected in the economy; it must be mutually beneficial," the Russian MP stressed.

He expressed regret that in recent years the two countries have not carried out planned work aimed at bilateral business development and strengthening.

"After all, the most important thing for us today is to improve the well-being of our citizens," Nilov concluded.

A group of Russian parliamentarians are visiting Armenia to attend the 34th session of the Interparliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
