The Ukrainian military is being trained in the UK, where they will be taught how to use armored vehicles donated by the British government, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.
“I can say that we are currently training Ukrainians in Poland in the use of anti-aircraft defence, and actually in the UK in the use of armoured vehicles,” Johnson said on a trip to India, where he was due to meet his counterpart, Narendra Modi.
According to the publication, the UK has pledged to supply Ukraine with 120 armored patrol vehicles, 80 of which are vehicles such as the Mastiff and Wolfhound. These vehicles perform combat functions, combat support and combat service.
The remaining 40 include ambulances, armored command vehicles and combat reconnaissance vehicles.
Johnson's spokesman told Reuters that the training of Ukrainian troops in the UK was part of a plan to provide Ukraine with new types of advanced military equipment that its soldiers had never used before.
