April 24 in France - the second round of presidential elections. In the decisive round of voting, the French will determine who will become the head of state for the next five years: Emmanuel Macron, who is running for a second term, or Marine Le Pen. There are more than 48.7 million people on the voter lists. Voting time is from 08:00 to 20:00, when the media will publish the preliminary election results provided by sociological institutes, RFI reports.

On Sunday voting day in France, polling stations are open from 8 am to 7 pm (CET). With the exception of big cities, where they close an hour later - at eight in the evening.

The counting of ballots at each polling station begins immediately after the completion of voting - in an open mode (in the presence of observers from candidates and all voters who want to follow the process). The final protocol is submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which publishes the nationwide election results.

Emmanuel Macron made it to the second round with 27.85% of the vote.
