UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held phone talks on Wednesday, the office of the Turkish president told reporters.

"During the talks, UN Secretary-General Guterres informed President Erdogan of his contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow," the office noted.

Guterres met with Erdogan in Ankara on Monday. On Tuesday in Moscow, he held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and was received by the Russian president.

Guterres met with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Wednesday as he arrived in Rzeszow, Poland, on his way to Ukraine and is expected to travel to Ukraine, where he will meet with Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The main program in Kiev is scheduled for Thursday, 28 April. The main topics of Guterres' contacts were diplomatic efforts for a cease-fire and the organization of humanitarian aid under the auspices of the UN, primarily in Mariupol.
