The National Assembly of Panama on Thursday approved a bill regulating the use and commercialization of crypto assets in the Central American country, Reuters reports.

The adopted norms open up opportunities to pay taxes with cryptocurrencies, as well as regulate the trade and use of crypto assets, the issuance of digital securities and the launch of new payment systems.

The bill was supported by 38 parliamentarians, two abstained from voting, none of the deputies voted against. The document was submitted for signature to the President of Panama, Laurentino Cortiso.
