YEREVAN. - Passengers of Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan train, whose trip was postponed on July 30 due to railway accident in Georgia, are determined to demand compensation for detriment both from Yerevan and Moscow offices of South Caucasus Railway, a passenger, expert of Freedom of Information center Liana Dodoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We shall also appeal to the Moscow office, perhaps they will satisfy our complaints. When we met, we said that we are going to sue them. They do not accept there was an emergency situation, repeating that everything is exaggerated,” said Dodoyan.

Earlier Dodoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the schedule of Yerevan - Batumi – Yerevan train has not changed "insignificantly", as reported by the press service of South Caucasus Railway, but very noticeably as they travelled for 32 hours in appalling conditions.

According to her, about 300 passengers of the train, including children, slept for almost 9 hours in Gori, and since the train was dark and lacked air conditioning, people had to spend the night on the pavement of train station with no food and in appalling conditions.

According to our respondent, they have seen railway station representative in Tbilisi. He promised that in Ayrum the starved passengers will be served meals but it was not provided.
