BAKU. – Azerbaijani authorities and opposition have started negotiations on presidential elections in 2013 and making democratic improvements in the state, Azerbaijani Poligon agency reports.

According to the information, the negotiations are run by the desire and mediation of the West. In particular, British Petroleum (BP) mediates the negotiations. “One of the high-ranking officials of BP”, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Terry Davidson mediates the negotiations, reports Poligon.

The source adds that the negotiations are run by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the leader of the oppositional Azerbaijani People’s Front Party Ali Kerimli. However, both sides have no belief that the negotiations will lead to a positive result.
