YEREVAN. – Armenian government approved the amendment to the law on “The victims of political repressions” which provisions allocation of interest-free mortgages. 

Since early 2000s the victims of political repressions and their children were provided long-term loans in order to improve their housing conditions. However the poor social status does not allow the borrowers to repay the loan on time.

In the event of adoption of the amendment, commercial banks will provide the loans in return for relevant deposit, which will reduce the risk of loan repayment, whereas the budget funds will cover the interests, government press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
