The United States does not believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to militarily take on the NATO alliance, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Wednesday, Bloomberg reports.
He doubts that Russia would expand the war, for example by attacking missile sites in Poland, because Putin does not want to go to war with the NATO alliance.
"If Russia decides to attack any nation that's a NATO member, then that's a game-changer," Austin said.
